Motivational and after dinner presentations

Over the past 15 years AI has provided presentations to the Air Training Corp, Army Cadet Force, Rotary Clubs, Round Tables, University of the Third Age, Royal British Legion, Scouting Association and the Women's Institute.

Al's presentations contain breathtaking photos, bringing Antarctica and the Himalayas seemingly within touching distance, giving you instant access to another world. Let him take you along on an inspirational journey; talk about the importance of motivation as a leader, explain how group dynamics change under pressure and why effective planning, preparation, resilience and possession of the task are vital keys to success.  During these events, Al has presented one of the three presentations below concluding each occasion with a colourful question and answer session, leaving no stone un-turned.

The 3 presentations Al provides are as follows:

Title: Southern Reach, an epic tale of leading the RAF's first unsupported attempt on the Geographic South Pole. Al describes how he selected and trained his team to survive in tents on Antarctica, while skiing unsupported the 600 nautical miles to the bottom of the earth. His heart on sleeve personal account of the day to day living on the ice, living on dried food, toilet drills to skiing in temperatures of - 45 degrees, leave you with no doubt that Antarctica is one of the most beautiful but most hostile locations in the world.
He concludes his presentation by reliving the effects that frostbite had on him and the mental resilience and determination he displayed to recover, to once again lead others to fulfil their dreams.

Title: Walk to Freedom  Individual physical strength and mental resilience. Al presents a heart on the sleeve presentation about his unsupported 881 mile walk between Land's End to John O' Groats in under 40 days in memory of his best friend who succumbed to Cancer at the age of 43. Al describes the shear grit and determination required to prove that any person or any team can achieve their objective, if the task is planned, trained and executed with discipline.
He compares this extreme endurance challenge with that of personnel within management and to those who challenge themselves daily on the shop floor. He proves it's not just the physical challenge, but with mental resilience and passionate communication he successfully completed this torturous journey while raising almost £28K in the process for the hospice who provided his best friend palliative care.

Title:  Himalayan Dreams  Having had the privilege of visiting Nepal 4 times, AI shares his literally breath taking experiences of trekking in the Himalaya's. His presentation takes you on a journey of the training and preparation required and delivers you an opening to this majestic world of Nepal. While describing the physical and mental emotions of trekking, the photos he shares almost place you within the world’s highest mountains, while encapsulating Nepal’s beautiful culture and people. One quote that captures this country perfectly is, “The Himalaya's will bring tears to your eyes, then will gently freeze them to your face".

Title: RAF Mountain Rescue Service. AI shares his experiences of 2 decades service, describing the history and the duties of one of the RAF's only 24/7 all weather emergency service. Al shares the tales of some of epic rescues and how with the assistance of civilian teams, Search and Rescue Dog Association and rescue helicopters, the RAF teams have pulled off some amazing rescues over it 80 years existence.
